Participation and eligibility

The only prerequisite is that you are a member of a club for
insurance reasons. Whether you’re affiliated with another organisation or part of an
independent collective, you’re always welcome.

Most tournaments are open to fighters aged 16+, but some events may set their own age limits depending on local rules and insurance requirements.

Always check the specific tournament page for confirmation.

No licence, no membership, no hidden costs. You only pay an entry fee for the tournaments that interest you. Come and fight, then leave free.

Gear and outfit

Any Led saber that meet Saber Tour® standards.
Midgrade (2mm) PCB blade. Simple clean hilt with no dangerous edges or modification. 125cm maximum.

A mandatory equipment check is performed before your pool begins by the referring team. Only fighters with fully compliant gear are allowed to enter the arena.

Ranking and points

Depending on your performance, your participation in each tournament
will earn you valuable points towards the overall ranking. Just like in
tennis, each tournament has a specific points level:

MAJOR: up to 150 points (winner)
CHALLENGER: up to 100 points (winner)
RUNNER UP: up to 75 points (winner)
INTERNAL: up to 50 points (winner)
SABER TOUR® FINALS: up to 60 points (winner)

The world ranking (available on saber-tour.com) is updated after each tournament and only your 4 best performances of the season are counted.

The fighter with the most points is ranked number 1, and so on.
